How to use USDC.e token at Cryptorefills

Difference between USDC and USDC.e

Both USDC and USDC.e are stablecoins pegged to the US dollar, but they have key differences:

• USDC (USD Coin): This is the original version of USDC, issued by Circle and natively supported on multiple blockchains, including Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, Polygon, and others. It is fully backed by cash and short-term US government bonds.
   
• USDC.e: This is a wrapped version of USDC, primarily found on the Avalanche blockchain. It is not issued directly by Circle but instead represents bridged USDC from Ethereum onto Avalanche. This means USDC.e is simply USDC that has been transferred to another blockchain using a bridge.
   

How to bridge USDC to USDC.e on Avalanche?

1. Go to the Avalanche Bridge user interface or in this example, we will use the Umbria Bridge platform. 
   Go to https://bridge.umbria.network/bridge/ethereum-avalanche/usdc and connect your MetaMask wallet.

2. Select the network from the drop-down menu
   Choose Ethereum Mainnet if you are planning to bridge your USDC from Ethereum Mainnet to Avalanche.
    
3. Input the amount of USDC you want to bridge
   On the input section, type the amount of USDC you want to bridge. Make sure to select USDC on the drop-down next to it.
    
4. Confirm the convertion
   Look at the computed tokens you will receive on the Avalanche blockchain
    
5. Approve to bridge the tokens
    
6. While status page is on “Waiting for confirmation” you will be redirected to a new MetaMask page and asked for approval to convert the token. Click on the “Confirm” button. Here you can look at the gas fee and the total amount.
    
7. Click “Add Token” button
   You will get one final MetaMask page which will ask you to approval to add the USDC.e. Click “Add Token” button.
    

You have now successfully bridged your USDC to USDC.e on Avalanche!
